Dan is the principal of RiskReversal Advisors, founded in 2016, offering consulting services to investment banks, investment advisors, and private companies. Dan spent the late 1990s and the 2000s as a proprietary equity & options trader at hedge fund firms SAC, Exis, and Cheyne Capital, and within the equity derivatives group of Merrill Lynch.
In 2011, Dan founded RiskReversal.com, a service dedicated to educating equity investors to the alternative ways to express their views in the public markets, by detailing the uses of equity options to better define risk, enhance yield and make use of leverage in a cost-effective manner.
Dan was a weekly panelist on CNBC's Options Action, a show dedicated to equity options trading from its inception in Q1 of 2009 until December 2019, and has been a regular panelist on CNBC's Fast Money since 2011.
Dan graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. He is originally from Syracuse, New York, and now lives in New York City with his wife and two daughters.
